Description

This 1982 Colvin Gazelle is a steel gaff-rigged cutter-ketch in fair condition, for sale in San Blas, Nayarit, Mexico. Le Patriote is a 42-foot Colvin Gazelle in Corten steel, rigged as a gaff cutter-ketch with aluminum masts stepped in tabernacles and oversized stainless standing rigging in good order. Her working sails run yankee, boomed jib, gaff main, and a bermudan mizzen. Below, the layout runs forward to aft: V-berth, storage and head, a dinette and settee/pilot berth, galley and a large nav station, then an engine room and workshop with generous crouch-height storage, and an aft cabin with two single berths that could be converted to a double. Honest and rough but sailable and livable, she proved herself on a 1,200-mile passage from Monterey down to Pacific Mexico, burning roughly four gallons of diesel the whole way. She measures 42' LOA, 11' beam and 4' draft, with two cabins, a steel hull and ketch rig. Asking $9,500 OBO. Contact the seller for full details or to arrange a viewing.
