Description

This 1981 Dehler DB1 is a classic, race-winning performance sloop in good condition, for sale in Monroe, Michigan. Liberty is a Brighton-built Dehler DB1 carrying an early DB2 two-spreader rig, with a winning record stretching across decades, most recently a second place in the 2023 Mills Race by just 16 seconds. She looks fast at the dock and turns heads wherever she goes, and has lived her entire life in the fresh water of the Great Lakes. This is a purpose-built race boat with a minimalist interior, meant to go fast, point well, and keep her crew safe; the running backstays and check stays (the latter needed only above 20 knots) reward a little practice, and she doesn't need a big crew, with the owner having sailed close to 400 miles solo using the included autohelm. She also makes a tidy weekender for the right couple. She measures 33' LOA, 11' beam and 6.5' draft, with one cabin, a fiberglass hull and fractional sloop rig. Asking $17,800.
